Summer Term Newsletter 2023

With exams over and the sun shining, we’re all looking forward to the summer break. Before you go, we just wanted to share some highlights from the summer term.

iAchieve Student Awards

This term we announced the winner of our iAchieve Inspirational Student Awards.

We received some amazing nominations and our winner – Rhys Garner from Flint High School in Wales – shone through thanks to his resilience, strength of character and dedication to his studies despite having to overcome an unsettled home life. Rhys completed iAchieve’s two-year vocational course in Equality and Diversity (equivalent to two Grade B GCSEs) alongside his other GCSE subjects. Well done Rhys!

We were also delighted to recognise two further inspirational students with runner-up prizes. Both students at The Green Room School, our runners up studied the iAchieve Business & Enterprise programme (part of our Key Stage 4 package) and applied their learning to set up their own successful small businesses!

New ‘Vaping & Smoking’ resource

As vaping continues to be a worrying trend amongst young people, we have developed a brand new ‘Vaping and Smoking’ resource to raise awareness and highlight the risks.

iAchieve teachers and administrators can find a PowerPoint presentation (great for assemblies!) and PDF file in the ‘Supporting Documents’ area of the platform.

New functionality

We’ve been making some exciting updates to the iAchieve learning platform, to allow us to offer a greater range of resources to support delivery of our online programmes.

Task setting

You now have the option to set tasks for your teaching groups – either choosing an existing task from our resource bank, or creating and uploading your own.

When viewing teaching groups for a particular course, simply click the ‘list’ icon to access the task setting page.

To create your own tasks, click the Set Custom Task button and complete the required fields. To view and select an iAchieve resource, click the Set Task from iAchieve Library button – here, you will see a wide range of activity worksheets, handouts and quiz questions that you can use to stretch and challenge your learners!

Course resources

While we have always made course resources available via the ‘Supporting Documents’ section of the iAchieve platform, we now have a specific resource page linked to each programme…making it much easier to access documents such as quizzes, mark schemes, feedback forms, handouts and activity worksheets for your chosen course.

When viewing a particular course on the iAchieve platform, simply click the View all resources button to see the resources available for that course.
