FAQs

Is iAchieve the awarding organisation or do I need to register with someone else?
We provide the teaching materials (and assessment, where applicable), but if you wish for your learners to gain the qualification, your school needs to become an approved centre with the relevant organisation (Pearson (for BTEC), NCFE or WJEC) in order to register your learners on the qualification and related exams/assessments.

Please note that your school will also have to pay the fees associated with these registrations, as they are not included in your iAchieve package. Prices can be found on the relevant awarding organisation’s website.

How do learners access the exam/internal assessments?
We provide the learning materials, but the internal assessment and external exams need to be accessed through the relevant awarding organisation (Pearson (for BTEC), NCFE or WJEC); your school needs to become an approved centre with them in order to register your learners on the qualification and to enter learners for the associated
exams/assessments.

Please not that your school will also have to pay the fees associated with these registrations, as they are not included in your iAchieve package. Prices can be found on the relevant awarding organisation’s website.

Can my learners compete the course online/through distance learning?
While our materials can be used to support learners who are better suited to working independently or away from classroom, and while they cover all of the content to prepare them for the assessment, there still needs to be an element of supervision, guidance, checking progress, feedback and revision in order to prepare your learners for the assessments and/or exams. Some courses also include practical elements and your learners would need to be given the opportunity to practice and complete these.

If you need information about making reasonable adjustments/alternative assessment arrangements, please contact the relevant awarding organisation.

I’m just using the materials as an enrichment activity – do I still need to register with the awarding organisation?
No. If you’re using the materials to introduce your earners to the topic, you do not need to register them with the awarding organisation; this is only necessary if you wish for your learners to gain the qualification.

How is the course work moderated?
All courses include elements which are internally marked and moderated, and then externally quality assured by the relevant awarding organisation (Pearson (for BTEC), NCFE or WJEC).

How do I make reasonable adjustments/arrange alternative assessment?
Our online sessions only come in one format, but you can use your student’s usual software (such as Dragon Naturally Speaking, Read & Write Gold or ZoomText Magnifier) to make them accessible. If your learner requires alternative assessment arrangements, e.g. a video recording instead of written work, please contact the awarding organisation for guidance and regulations.
